The history of Wanzl is a story of continuous innovation.
Rudolf Wanzl invented the prototype shopping trolley in 1950 – the design of which has remained almost unchanged to date. There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come: the production figures shot up afterwards. Today, the company is the largest manufacturer of shopping trolleys in the world. Each year around 1.8 million units are manufactured and sold in a huge range of different models. For decades, the name Wanzl has been synonymous with new, pioneering developments for convenience in shopping and sales. Our developments have set standards which are today considered a given by customers around the world. We are now a partner of international retail chains and have transferred Wanzl quality to fields of use in other industries.
At the core of our work are solutions that meet individual customer needs and satisfy demanding requirements. This approach has allowed the original metal goods factory to develop into the company on its current scale.
